Over many years, we’ve enjoyed being a furniture supplier for interior designers completing beautiful homes in Central Otago.
This has taken on a special significance for Rod as in recent year’s Central Otago has become his second home.
“Central Otago is a very unique part of New Zealand. Having grown up in the remote Mangakahai valley in Northland, you couldn’t get two more contrasting environments” says Rod.
“In recent years, Wanaka has become my family’s home away from home. My wife Mary’s parent live there and she has holidayed there since her teens. Our son Max completed his schooling at Mount Aspiring College and became addicted to snow boarding! A few year’s ago we were lucky enough to buy a property in Wanaka that had been in Mary’s family for two decades”.
Rod has wanted to display Designers’ Collection furniture in Central Otago for a number of years. So, early this year when he saw the expanded brand experience Penny and Verity are creating at the Architecture + Design Library in Wanaka, he leapt at the chance to be involved.
Despite the new brand experience area still being in its final stages of completion, we launched a display of some of our designs there last week. Our initial display includes a sofa, sofa bed, coffee table and ottoman, armchair and swivel chair.
“Designers can now take their clients to view the quality of our furniture on the ground in Central for the very first time” says Rod.
The Architecture + Design Library is a facility that gives industry professionals local access to an architectural sample library. They offer local and out-of-town professionals the opportunity to view and borrow samples, share knowledge and resources. They regularly host supplier presentations and community events. Designers can also make use of their recently renovated meeting rooms, private offices and shared services.
“It’s an impressive facility and provides an excellent service to the design community”.
