Project Collaboration

We love it when Interior Designers fully engage us as a partner on their projects.

Getting involved in projects early gives us an appreciation for the Interior Designer’s vision for their project helping us to add value, problem solve and ultimately delight their client.

This new Central Otago home by Nicola Manning Design is a great example.  We were involved from the outset, working with Nicola and her client to get a common understanding of what was required and expectations in terms of furniture design, materials and delivery.

Nicola made great use of our showroom with working sessions bringing all her materials including flooring, hard surfaces, fabrics etc. to the showroom so that the all the components of the interior could be progressed.  These working sessions are highly productive.  We try and create an environment that is calm and relaxed to put clients at ease.  We are available as much or as little as the Designer requires to provide product knowledge, support and suggest solutions.  Given our history designing furniture, we have an extensive library of bespoke pieces and concepts that can be added to the mix.  We provide food and refreshments to help keep energy levels up and make the whole experience an enjoyable and memorable one for the Designer and their client.

If Interior Designers from out-of-town are looking for a venue to work through options with their clients, they are welcome to use our showroom.

For Nicola’s project, we were able to provide designs for many of their furniture requirements.  We fully appreciate that we can’t necessarily meet all their needs but often it is easier to use one supplier for the majority of pieces.  This helps us work with the Interior Designer to ensure that production lead-times are closely linked to the project timeline.

The furniture supplied for Nicola’s project was a combination of designs from our collection and bespoke pieces custom-made for the project.  “Our attention to detail means that sometimes it’s not just hard to find the right piece of furniture, sometimes it feels impossible.  And that’s exactly why we love working with Designers’ Collection” says Nicola.

“We love seeing where our furniture finds it’s home and the response from happy clients – and their Designers!” says Rod.

Here’s the response from Nicola’s client Sylvia:  “Nicola was fantastic to work with.  I engaged her at the beginning of my dream home build to do all the interior design including furniture selection and placement, colours, kitchen and bathroom design etc.  I could not be happier with my home!”
