Nazare corner sofa a communal hub for relaxed lifestyle

Designers' Collection’s latest design, the Nazare sofa and sectional defines a living space inspired by style, our relaxed lifestyle and love of corner sofas.

The corner or sectional sofa has taken on greater relevance to New Zealand homes over the last 20 years as living areas have increased in size and open-plan living has become engrained in our architectural psyche.  More recently separate entertainment or television viewing rooms and apartments have added to the significance of the corner or sectional sofa to our homeowners.
The Nazere (pronounced Naz-ere) builds on the success of our portfolio of sectional sofas with a new look to compliment its superior comfort.  The sleeve style upholstery creates a sleekly tailored frame to support the luxurious comfort of our Maxxi feather wrap seats and finely proportioned feather fibre back cushions.  The frame sits on cast steel legs amplifying the contemporary appeal of our latest sectional sofa.  The extension of the ottoman emphasizes the sleek lines of the Nazere and adds the multifunctional benefit of elongating the return chaise while offering an ottoman that can float in front of the sofa when needed.
If you're wondering where the Nazere name comes from, it is a coastal village in Portugal.  I visited it on my OE in 1990 and fell in love with it.  An overnight stay became a week as we enjoyed the beautiful white sands, sumptuous seafood and local hospitality that reminded us of the best summer holidays at home.
The Nazere contrasts our other sectional sofas including the Felice with its characteristic fine lines, gently curved arms and soft casual cushioning.  We developed our Maxxi feather wrap seat cushions specifically for this design.  They offer twice the feather down content than a standard feather wrap cushion and blend beautifully with the Felice's relaxed feather down back pillows.  The Felice is lower and more casual than to Nazere.
The Solvani from the Paradigm Design range has stronger proportions grounding it as the centrepiece in its setting.  It offers an indulgent seat depth with an easily accessible seat height.  The Solvani can be made with bordered back cushions that match the width of the seat cushions or with large wrap over style scatter cushions for a more casual look.
The Como is a more tailored alternative to the Nazere and Felice and it is finer in profile than the Solvani.  The seat depth is narrower suiting clients looking for a cross over depth that enables comfortable conversational seating without compromising their ability to curl up or stretch out.
All of our designs have a recommended configuration and layout but this is easily adapted to fit your client's personal space.
